VeCo Jones Index Wrap Up, Week of Oct. 2nd
Hello folks, and welcome to the first Weekly VeCo Jones Index Wrap Up!

The VeCo Jones, an aggregate listing of several major companies, as well as commodities trading on the Stormwind Auction House has just been officially formed this week and was named after the esteemed resources provider The Venture Company which is a inaugural member stock. This Index started trading Wednesday at 194.22 points by prior agreement. It tracks raw commodities for craftsmen, as well as some of their products and the specialized Enchanting Index. Let’s get started with some numbers, shall we?
The Veco Jones found itself slightly up to 195.10 by the end of trading Friday, though it had lost a little steam from it’s Thursday high of 198.44. Of special note is the sudden rise in prices for raw commodities – particularly herbs – going into the weekend. Also interesting is the steep decline in special commodities, like Titansteel, which saw a 15% decline in trading on Friday. However going strong is the Alliance gold piece, which in international markets is currently trading at over two and a half Horde gold to one Alliance.
In company news this week, all attention was on the government buyout of flailing mount-maker Gnomish Motors (GM) by the Kingdom of Ironforge. Support and detraction for this move has seemed to be split pretty evenly among racial lines, with Gnomes and Humans supporting the move, Dwarves seeming rather dubious, and Night Elves and Draenai just not seeming to care. When asked to comment, each faction had it’s own perspective.
“Why should I care about some mechanical birds? They do not make them large enough to support me, and my gorgeous hooves.” – Shadora, Draenai
“This can only be good. If the Gnomes don’t have this to work on, they’ll have to go back to teaching our youngsters how to make bombs for a living, and we just can’t have that.” – Athelios, Human
“Iffen ye ask me, they should be spendin’ less money on this silly mess and more on ale for Brewfest!” – Neitrune, Dwarf
“Bouncing something is really difficult on a Mechanostrider, so I don’t plan on changing vheicles anytime soon.” – Virendis, Night Elf
“At least now I can actually enjoy my Brewfest beverage, now that my future employment is secure. Although, I do hope the regulatory powers that be don’t require any innovations in the field of zero-emit ions in the near future…” – Clif, Gnome
