This is Fimble Gyrotorque reporting to you live from the roof of the world! I will be covering all of the upcoming events for the next twenty-four hours as classic rivals collide: the Midnight Reveries and the infamous Blacktooth Grin. I stand atop one of the well defended walls of Wintergarde Keep within the frigid region of Dragonblight.

Earlier today and last night one could hear laughter and good cheers all around as the Midnight Reveries celebrated their three year anniversary, but as I stand here tonight you could hear a pin drop as the tension of war looms thick over this stronghold. The tone and faces of the Golden Army have gone from celebratory and joyous to stone-cold and determined. Never have I seen such a large mass of soldiers as stern and focused as I see these men and women here tonight. When one speaks of the calm before the storm, they speak of what I see here now. A cold breeze blows on Wintergarde Keep and its inhabitants tonight folks. This is Fimble Gyrotorque reporting to you live from the frontlines, where I will continue my coverage of The Battle for Wintergarde Keep!

Twenty-six hours later…..

This is Fimble Gyrotorque reporting to you live from Wintergarde Keep.  The festivities here have just begun.  After a hard fought battle, the Midnight Reveries have emerged with a tremendous victory over the Blacktooth Grin! Let me recap on how the battle panned out.

The Horde invaders pressed hard attempting to breach and hold the keep, but never succeeded.  They were slaughtered in the keep’s courtyard, some seeking refuge within the depths of the stronghold’s dungeon.  Their attempt to seek safety in the bowls of the keep only led to complete massacre, the invaders cut off and pinned down by the ruthlessness of the Golden Army and her allies.

After being forced to retreat from the mountain, the Horde army took refuge within the near-by forsaken stronghold of Venomspite. Gaining this knowledge, the Golden Army and her allies charged into the village with full force decimating all that stood in their way. With a crippled army and a broken spirit the remaining Horde soldiers retreated into the shadows of the forest.

After the festivities moved on to the inn, I caught up with Lady Dreamer, Founder of the Midnight Reveries, as well as Commanders Decain and Siegmund of the Golden Guard to hear their words of victory.

Lady Dreamer, what are your thoughts on your victory here today?

“Between those donning the Golden Tabard, those of the Seventh Legion, and our many Allies, the barbarian invaders stood no chance against the might of our great army.   Their assault on our headquarters was ill-planned and reckless, and it is clear there was a lack of preparation on our enemy’s behalf.  They severely underestimated the capability of our forces stationed here in this stronghold.  Their offensive was suicide, and it became apparent just minutes into the battle.”

Following my interview with Lady Dreamer, I gathered some words of hope from Commander Decain directed to the other members of the Alliance.

“Keep up the fight. Never give them an inch. We will win this war.”

… few but powerful words from the intimidating Commander.

Justicar Siegmund had strong words as well directed at those who oppose the might of the Alliance.

“I want any Horde, Scourge, or demons to listen to these words carefully. Wintergarde Keep is an Alliance stronghold.  We will defend it until the last breath is pried from our corpses. Make no mistake, we are The Golden Army, and by the King’s command, this is our station.”

The battle was fought well by both sides, each showing determination to be the victor.  But with a drive to defend their home it was the Midnight Reveries and her Allies who emerged with their heads held high, proud to emerge as the victor over their old rivals.

On behalf of the Stormwind Press, this is your local action gnome, Fimble “Badger-nose” Gyrotorque, signing off and getting back to the front lines, where I will continue to break the mold for my readers.

It was quite the battle. I said it before we started and I’ll say it again. We shall not lose our keep. There is no hope for any who dare to tread within our reach.

We Keepers of Stromgarde were honored to fight at your side to repel the Horde forces. It was a glorious victory for the Alliance, thanks to splendid leadership by Commander Decain!
